Shah Rukh Khan is currently riding high on the success of his latest release, ‘Jawan‘ that has taken the box office by storm. ‘Jawan’ marked SRK‘s second film this year after ‘Pathaan’.
While he has been receiving praises from all quarters for his mass action-entertainer, not many considered him apt for action films until ‘Jawan’. Yes, you read that right! In a throwback interview with Deadline, SRK had confessed that no filmmaker wanted to cast him in action films.According to him, he has done love stories, social dramas and has even played the bad guy in some films but has never done a top notch action film.
Further, Shah Rukh added that he is 57-years-old and that he has to do action films in the next few years. The ‘Jawan’ star wanted to do a Mission Impossible-ish kind of film.The Atlee directorial is a perfect mix of action and mass entertainment. Apart from Shah Rukh, it also stars Nayanthara and Vijay Sethupathi in lead roles. The makers have also roped in Deepika Padukone and Sanjay Dutt for special cameo roles in the movie. Actors like Sanya Malhotra, Ridhi Dogra, Sunil Grover, Priyamani and others play supporting characters in the movie.

The SRK starrer made a record-breaking collection on its first day at the box office. It collected Rs 75 crore across India. It has even beat the record of his earlier release, ‘Pathaan’ with a huge margin.
The film’s first show kicked off at 6 am on day one amid massive celebrations. Videos of fans hooting and whistling on SRK’s entry in the cinema halls are doing the rounds on social media.
